BCF's inaugural research grant — $2,500 directed toward Crohn's Disease research through our partner organization Propel a Cure, a nonprofit dedicated to funding transformative research into the underlying causes of Crohn's disease.

This grant represents BCF's first step toward its Track 1 mission: advancing Crohn's Disease research in the United States. The specific research recipient will be announced next month upon completion of Propel a Cure's grant evaluation process.

Cancer Children at Kolhapur Cancer Centre
🇮🇳 Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India

BCF provided $1,569 (₹1,50,000) in need-based financial support to three pediatric cancer patients from low- and middle-income families undergoing active treatment at Kolhapur Cancer Centre, Maharashtra, India — through our partner, V Care Foundation.

The three children were being treated for acute leukemia and a solid tumor diagnosis. One case additionally required a bone marrow transplant. Family incomes ranged from ₹31,000 to ₹80,000 per year — well below the cost of a single round of treatment.

◦ Identified through medical and socioeconomic assessment of families undergoing active cancer treatment
◦ ₹50,000 disbursed directly to Kolhapur Cancer Centre for each of the three patients' treatment costs
◦ Disbursed under a formal Grant Agreement with V Care Foundation, with hospital receipts confirming use of funds
